Ponsonby mentor lands South Canty coaching gig

PONSONBY mentor Simon Scott will coach South Canterbury in next year’s Heartland Championship, according to the Timaru Herald.

Scott – who not only guided the Ponies to their third consecutive Gallagher Shield title earlier this year, but was also involved with the Auckland Under 20 side – will be in charge for the next two seasons.

The 41-year-old will be assisted by the union’s development and sevens coach Chester Scott.

They replace Ken Willis and Barry Fair Brother, who took the Timaru-based province to the Meads Cup semi finals in 2009. CLICK HERE to read more.
